National University Selects iLinc’s Enterprise Unlimited Web Conferencing Program
University Takes Advantage of New iLinc Program â?? One Time Fee for Unlimited, Organization-Wide Conferencing
PHOENIX, Arizona (April 04, 2006) –
iLinc Communications, Inc. (AMEX:ILC), developers of Web conferencing software and audio conferencing solutions, today announced that National University has contracted with iLinc to participate in iLinc’s new Enterprise Unlimited Web Conferencing program. The university is currently utilizing LearnLinc, iLinc’s virtual classroom software for their distance learning program. The new contract will provide National University with unlimited use of iLinc Web conferencing for their distance learning courses and for other Web collaboration needs across their entire organization.
“iLinc has been a great provider and partner to us over the last two years as we rolled out our conferencing solution,” commented Dr. Eileen Heveron, Associate Vice President, Information Technology for National University, California’s second largest nonprofit private institution of higher education. “iLinc has licensing options that enabled us to migrate to different plans that will scale with us as we continue to use more conferencing. The new Enterprise Unlimited program will save us a considerable amount of money while providing our students, faculty and staff with wider access to the iLinc system.”
Customers that enroll in iLinc’s Enterprise Unlimited program pay a one-time up front fee that is based upon several factors, including the size of the organization as well as their initial estimated conferencing needs. As demand grows, iLinc Enterprise customers may expand capacity anytime by simply paying the associated annual maintenance and support fees. Like all other licensing programs from iLinc, Enterprise customers may choose to have iLinc host their software or host it themselves on their own network, unlike iLinc’s competitors.
“The growth of Web conferencing within organizations is often hindered by the per-minute or concurrent port structure of their existing licensing plan,” said Andy Nilssen, Senior Analyst and Partner, Wainhouse Research. “To realize the full potential of Web conferencing, usage must expand beyond scheduled meetings by a select few to become an on-demand resource that encourages ad-hoc collaboration by anyone at any time. iLinc’s new licensing model removes the shackles of cost penalties and encourages expanded adoption of Web conferencing across the organization.”
“We have seen a tremendous response from this program over the past quarter from new and existing customers that wanted to remove the financial barriers that can often deter ad-hoc usage of Web collaboration,” noted James M. Powers, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of iLinc Communications. “We have simplified the licensing structure for Web conferencing so that it is not complicated or cost prohibitive for organizations to empower everyone with conferencing capabilities. We anticipate many of our existing customers as well as several new customers will take advantage of this program as we continue to create a sales funnel of loyal customers that migrate from per-minute Web and audio conferencing users to concurrent license purchasers and ultimately, to Enterprise Unlimited accounts.”
