BeaconLive Integrates with An Email Marketer

This week, at a biannual information publishers’ conference, Real Magnet and BeaconLive launched a seemingly ambitious joint offering: a unified platform for email marketing, event registration, and audio and web conferencing. Real Magnet specializes in email marketing, and BeaconLive provides conferencing services and even e-commerce capabilities.

The goal behind the joint venture is to make event marketers more efficient at their jobs, eliminating the impediments making their tasks cumbersome by giving them more automation tools. Real Magnet executives are also trumpeting the benefits customers receive from receiving confirmations and even reminders, but these features are certainly not unique to the BeaconLive-Real Magnet package.

Users will use Real Magnet’s platform to create registration for and promote their conferences, and once registration is established, the event is scheduled on the BeaconLive platform via API. Likewise, attendees filling out registration forms are registered via BeaconLive. With the email marketing integration, confirmations and reminders are sent through the BeaconLive platform, and include unique access keys for each registrant.

The need to switch back and forth between the conference provider and email client is eliminated, but as stated before, it’s not a novel idea, and many web conferencing services include similar offerings. The collaboration is a smart move to keep business going, but the quality of the product will be what truly determines its success.
