The WebEx Connect Platform Extends the Reach of All Software Solutions with New On-Demand Composite Collaborative Applications

Software-as-a-Service Platform Unifies On-Premises and On-Demand Solutions to Create Intelligent “Mashup” Applications for Knowledge Workers

SANTA CLARA, Calif., September 26, 2006—The WebEx Connect platform breaks down the barriers between on-demand and on-premise software by allowing customers, ISVs and partners to create two-way integration between any application. The WebEx Connect platform will provide the tools and “connectors” to enable the delivery of any application over the new, on-demand WebEx Connect grid and collaborative WebEx Connect workspace client.

“Companies around the world have invested over $50 billion in software; WebEx Connect will make that valuable infrastructure available on-demand within the context of business-to-business collaboration,” said Subrah Iyar, chairman and CEO, WebEx. “Software developers will be able to easily extend the reach of their applications by creating on-demand access through WebEx Connect.”

WebEx Connect Grid
The WebEx Connect grid is the power behind the WebEx Connect workspace. Through a partnership with Cordys, a provider of industry-leading SOA technology, the grid will provide a set of workflow and connector services that make it possible for any third-party application to easily integrate with WebEx on-demand collaborative applications. WebEx Connect partners and ISVs can use the connectors to make their applications available over the WebEx Connect grid. Customers can use the connectors to build links between their critical on-demand and on-premise applications such as CRM and ERP. The WebEx Connect grid does not discriminate between “on-demand” and “on-premise” applications; it offers “distributed innovation” by allowing users to select from hundreds of applications that deliver the capabilities they need to succeed.

“Cordys and WebEx have been working together for years to make the reality of universal integration possible,” said Jan Baan, founder and executive chairman, Cordys. “WebEx Connect can pull relevant data and content from existing on-demand or on-premises applications and provide it where knowledge workers need it most, within the context of business collaboration.”

The MediaTone On-demand Network, a global network of thousands of servers, is specifically designed for real-time web collaboration through the integration of data, audio, video, and VoIP. As the backbone of WebEx Connect, the power, performance, reliability, and security of the WebEx MediaTone Network is now available for WebEx partners.

WebEx Connect partners include: BMC, Genius, Mindjet, DreamFactory, SoonR and SugarCRM. To learn more about becoming a WebEx Connect partner, visit, http://web.archive.org/web/20070131100205/http://webex.com/go/connectpartners

WebEx Connect Workspace
The WebEx Connect workspace client will combine application data and content to create a personal, customized solution for business collaboration. It allows customers to integrate collaboration, business applications and data from applications on the WebEx Connect grid. The WebEx Connect workspace allows multiple applications to work together in real time and provides contextual presence through WebEx AIM Pro Business Edition instant messaging. The WebEx Connect workspace will be available as a desktop client, web-based application or mobile solution and be compatible with enterprise policy management and directory services.

“By combining web collaboration, real-time application data and contextual presence, WebEx Connect is a strategic solution for the millions at-work IM users,” said Brian Curry, vice president of AOL’s Business Services. “WebEx Connect’s unique application integration and cross-company collaboration capabilities are perfectly suited for today’s business.”

Pricing and Availability
The basic WebEx Connect client will be free of charge, and many of the building blocks are available for use by partners today. Applications will be individually priced. Details of WebEx Connect, including partner applications and WebEx Connect workspace clients, will be available beginning in Q4 2006
