Language Line Services and WebEx Introduce In-Language Conferencing Service to Meet Needs of its Global Customers
Santa Clara and Monterey, Calif., April 11, 2006—Language Line Services, the global leader of language interpretation and document translation services, and WebEx Communications (Nasdaq: WEBX), the leading provider of on-demand collaborative business applications, have partnered to provide on-demand in-language web meeting and event services for companies with global language needs. This new service allows businesses to use WebEx to deliver online training, virtual product launches and web events in eight languages.
Language Line Services translates the documents and audio track from the originating WebEx online session. WebEx then repackages the translated audio and slides into a high-quality recording for on-demand viewing by global audiences. This new service is available in Cantonese (Chinese), French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin (Chinese), Portuguese and Spanish with more languages to follow. WebEx applications are also available in the native languages of Cantonese (Chinese), French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin (Chinese) and Spanish.
“Our alliance with WebEx creates a new and powerful communications avenue for organizations to connect with all their customers and prospects regardless of language,” said Louis Provenzano, Language Line Services senior vice president, sales and marketing. “Language Line Services continues to earn its industry leadership position as evidenced by our ability to integrate WebEx into the interpretation services we provide.”
“As the international customer base of businesses continues to grow in a variety of industries, including finance, insurance, pharmaceutical, government and health care, so does the need for native language applications and localized content,“ said Gary Griffiths, vice president, products, WebEx. “By working with Language Line Services we can jointly serve the expanding global need to collaborate online, anytime, anywhere and in many languages”.
