A big step forward was taken today to render the virtual a viable alternative to the physical for Multi National Corporations. Thanks to efforts by Adobe Systems and partners, the International Telecommunication Union – a United Nations agency – can now replicate the sophisticated system of live translators found on the UN Assembly floor within an online environment, removing a significant barrier to the use of virtual rooms for meetings of global audiences.

For use with Adobe’s Connect platform, the rPhone, a Refined Data Solutions-ZipDX LLC product, automatically synchronizes attendees and translators throughout the duration of a virtual meeting so that participants always hear the conference audio in their native language, with no human intervention required.
