ACT Conferencing Appoints New President

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (January 18, 2011) – ACT Conferencing has promoted its chief operating officer to president of the company. Mark Kelly, who joined ACT in 1998, has been responsible for the day-to-day service delivery operations of ACT as well as product development, telecommunications infrastructure and back-office functions. Kelly has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

As a result of this promotion, all departments other than finance now report to Kelly. It was also announced today that Gary Iles, senior director of strategy and product management, will manage ACT’s marketing activities, including advertising, brand strategy, online marketing and public relations.

Prior to joining ACT, Kelly was the co-founder and vice president of engineering for Advanced Multi-Point Conferencing (AMC), a teleconferencing service provider based in Ottawa, Canada, which was acquired by ACT. Prior to his involvement with AMC, Kelly spent more than six years with Nortel Networks where he held a number of positions, including manager of core software development for Nortel’s audio conference bridging platform and as a member of the scientific staff.

“2011 marks an exciting year for ACT Conferencing as we further commit to providing unified communications which will enable our customers to conduct business in the most efficient way possible,” said Peter Salas, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Mark and Gary have played key roles in defining the corporate and product direction for ACT and as we execute on our unified communications strategy moving forward, we are fortunate to have their leadership and technical skills.”

ACT Conferencing plans the initial roll-out of its global unified communications platform over the next three months.

“The way organizations communicate and conduct business is vastly different from even five years ago; the global marketplace is much more open than ever before,” said Kelly. “ACT continues to help its customers around the world navigate and implement the most advanced conferencing services appropriate to each organization’s style of operation. It’s this level of tailored customer service and support that makes me proud to be part of ACT Conferencing and honored to accept this new position.”
