Netbriefings solutions bridge East and West with Virtual Symposium on globalization, learning, and technology

St. Paul, Minnesota – November 11, 2008 – Netbriefings, a webcasting services provider that specializes in helping businesses communicate with video, will provide webcasting and video technology for the US – China Virtual Symposium.

This event presented by Wainhouse Research in conjunction with Drexel University and the World Bank’s Global Development Learning Network focuses on the theme “Building Virtual Global Communities.” Hosted online from November 11th-14th, the symposium incorporates live webcasts, short on-demand (recorded) presentations, panel discussions, blogs, and live presentations in SecondLife as a means to build a community to explore the use of these technologies for development and learning in a global setting.

“We are very excited about both the quality and accessibility of the program,” states Stacy Austin-Li, analyst with Wainhouse Research and co-organizer of the event. “The broad range of technologies — from traditional videoconferencing to the open source e-learning platform Moodle and video blogging and streaming tools provided by Netbriefings – speaks more about the variety of tools available than the pursuit of any ‘wow factor.’ Each collaborative technology was selected on the basis of its ability to help create community and involve participants without presenting new barriers to access, and we welcome interested parties to drop-in any time by visiting

Presentations will be streamed live via the Netbriefings eConference Enterprise webcast service as well as on Drexel University’s SecondLife Island.

The Netbriefings Proclaim video messaging tool will be utilized by presenters to provide video enabled presentations for the on-demand/online portion of the conference. In addition, participants will be invited to use Proclaim as a social networking community building tool in which they will share video snippets about their experiences.
