Consultants Discover the Value of Online Meeting Solutions

The Institute of Management Consultants USA (IMC USA) has selected Citrix Online, a division of Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), to provide online meeting and real-time collaboration services to the organization and its members. The IMC will use Citrix® GoToMeeting® to help members consult with their clients more efficiently and effectively.

The IMC USA is the premier professional association and sole certifying body dedicated to individuals consulting to management. One challenge faced by the Institute is to regularly deliver timely information to a large, geographically dispersed membership, as well as to 25 local IMC chapters. By using GoToMeeting, the IMC USA hopes to facilitate that process.

“We need to convey a great deal of information to our members and volunteer leaders, and with the GoToMeeting service we’ve found a convenient means to enable two-way, real-time communication,” said Loraine Huchler, IMC USA board member and chair of the Chapter Presidents’ Council. “GoToMeeting offers us a flexible, interactive way to show-and-tell to many people at once.”

The IMC USA is also empowering its members with GoToMeeting subscriptions. Consulting is a communication-intensive business, heavily dependent on telephones, e-mail and travel; by offering GoToMeeting, the IMC USA has made it easier for members to reach and connect with their clients.

“Consultants are constantly making presentations to clients and collaborating with colleagues,” said IMC USA member Diane Borhani. “GoToMeeting allows me to communicate with anyone, anywhere, and share what appears on my computer screen. I’m able to show charts and spreadsheets during a phone conversation. My partner and I can collaborate and both make changes to any document that’s on my desktop, while we’re talking about it. Now, I don’t have to travel as much, so I’ll save time and cut down on both my and my clients’ expenses.”

Consultants often deal with sensitive, confidential material. The IMC USA chose GoToMeeting in part because it offered the assurance of a highly secure platform.

“GoToMeeting is designed for businesses of all sizes, including consulting professionals and small firms,” said Mike Mansbach, vice president of product marketing and business development for Citrix Online. “We’ve made it incredibly easy to use – for both the meeting host and attendees – and very cost-effective. GoToMeeting allows consultants to enjoy a competitive edge by extending their reach and providing a higher quality client service experience.”
