Government Agencies Trusting VIA3 for Secure Web Conferencing
Web conferencing is gaining speed among users within the commercial and non-profit sector as decision-makers search for ways to drive collaboration while also cutting down on travel expenses.
Now, as a result of the Telework Enhancement Act, which requires federal agencies to develop telework plans that are more robust and secure, government agencies are seeking ways to fully comply. One direction has been to implement FIPS 140-2 secure conferencing solutions, demanding a hardware intensive fixed point solution, or VIA3.
This software-based solution is rapidly gaining attention from federal agencies for the use of its secure video and Web conferencing. Agencies can use this technology for online presentations, meetings of any size, Web-based communications and document collaboration.
The VIA3 platform is already in use on Capitol Hill for initiatives surrounding telework and the continuity of work. The solution is now gaining increased popularity among state governments seeking to implement secure capabilities to support Web conferencing, communication and collaboration needs.
The Department of Juvenile Justice in Virginia has already noticed the benefits of the VIA3 solution by processing after-hours intakes. Documents can easily be signed back and forth with the platform and has already saved the state 27,124 hours of travel per year.
The state of Utah is saving $500,000 per year with the VIA3 solution. The Justice Court system implemented the platform to perform video arraignments. The court system enjoys the flexibility, security and real-time audio/video capabilities they can leverage through a standard broadband Internet connection.
As state governments continue to face tighter budgets, the demand for streamlining communications is likely to intensify. With the use of Web conferencing solutions such as the VIA3, these agencies will be better equipped to get the job done on time and within budget.
