eScrip Selects Cisco WebEx Training Center to Facilitate Training for Fundraising Coordinators Across the Country

Geographic distance and expensive travel are no longer roadblocks to growth when using real-time, online training

SAN JOSE, Calif – December 3, 2008 – More than 45,000 fundraising coordinators from schools and non-profit organizations across the country can now receive skills training with eScrip’s use of Cisco WebEx Training Center. In this difficult economy, up-to-date training is critical for education fundraising. With WebEx, eScrip is able to conveniently and cost-effectively provide these important training sessions to current and new fundraising coordinators.

Electronic Scrip Incorporated (ESI), also known as eScrip, is a California-based corporation dedicated to establishing relationships between commerce and community and providing resources to organizations that support children. ESI introduced the eScrip program in 1999 and has distributed over $200 million to schools and youth organizations across the country. With WebEx, ESI is able to share valuable training information and best practices with all participating schools, regardless of location.

“WebEx makes it possible for us to train our school coordinators with real-time, online training, removing geographic distance and costly travel for these volunteers, while improving outreach and convenience,” said Joanne Remillard, executive vice president of ESI. “Historically, coordinators that have attended our WebEx online training sessions have seen a marked increase in participation and funding dollars. Many of these coordinators help their schools raise $50,000-$75,000 or more annually. Because we can offer this online, we can now offer this advantage to all school volunteers.”

“Using WebEx technology allows people to participate in live, highly-interactive training, meetings, elearning, and other online events without ever having to leave their desks,” said June Bower, vice president, of marketing in Cisco’s WebEx Technology Group. “Top creative businesses are sharing knowledge and ideas in ways they never dreamed possible. The way eScrip is using our technology ends up financially benefiting schools across the country because the cost of training the fundraising volunteers drops to nearly nothing and additional volunteers are enabled to raise more funds.”

“We are in Alaska, and traveling for training would be extremely expensive for our organization,” said Cindy Jorgensen, Anne Wien Elementary Parent-Teacher Association. “I felt this presentation answered lots of questions. Thank you for providing this meeting without necessitating travel.”
