Scored #1 for Ease of Use, Instant Meetings and Value – and Faster Growth than Other Web Conferencing Services in Billion-Dollar Category
Reaching a milestone of $1 billion in quarterly revenues in Q1 2007, the market for worldwide collaboration services shows no signs of slowing, reports leading independent analyst and consulting firm Wainhouse Research. In a recent survey by Wainhouse Research, Citrix® GoToMeeting® web conferencing and collaboration service from Citrix Online, a division of Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), rose above all other web-conferencing vendors in the category. GoToMeeting was cited by end users as offering the best overall customer experience, best overall ease of use and greatest simplicity in starting all types of online meetings.
The report noted a continuing climb in the unaided brand recognition of Citrix Online’s software-as-a-service (SaaS). “Continuing a surge, the combination of Citrix and GoToMeeting brands totals 19 percent, up 6 percent as a combined brand from last year,” commented Andy Nilssen, senior analyst and partner at Wainhouse Research. “Businesses of different sizes and from diverse industries are all realizing the benefits and simplicity of today’s best-of-breed web conferencing and collaboration solutions, such as GoToMeeting. These findings reinforce the fact that online meeting services can enable virtually anyone to cost-effectively accelerate their business and be more productive with just a few clicks of the mouse.”
Users reported their top organizational reasons for using web conferencing:
•Saves travel costs (76%)
•Saves time, increases productivity (74%)
•Increases business reach, involve people that could otherwise not attend (71%)
•Better than using voice conferencing alone (64%)
Oregon-based PPM Energy, which develops wind farms and markets wholesale energy, is an example of a company benefiting from the increased productivity and lower travel costs of web conferencing. “We use GoToMeeting to collaborate with remote office employees and vendors to review computer-aided design diagrams, proposals and other critical documents online in real time, even though each participant may be thousands of miles away,” said Chris Reavis, director, IT Infrastructure, enterprise infrastructure for PPM Energy. “With GoToMeeting our time to market is certainly quicker. We can resolve an issue the same day and keep the project moving instead of coordinating travel to get the right people in the same room for a two-hour meeting.”
Reavis also appreciates the security, simplicity, ease of use and flat-fee pricing of GoToMeeting. “Our administration team didn’t need one more specialized product to support,” he said. “It was important to us that GoToMeeting is a hosted solution because it’s one less thing for us to worry about. There was no way to justify other products, because they were four to five times the cost. One of the most desirable things about GoToMeeting is the flat rate—you are encouraged to use it more.”
“Our customers select Citrix Online’s software-as-a-service because they desire a simpler, better online meeting and collaborating experience that allows them to do more and travel less,” said Mike Mansbach, vice president of product marketing and business development at Citrix Online. “We believe anyone, and any size business, should enjoy the powerful and affordable online services that are available today for speeding business growth and increasing productivity.”
