Boeing Leverages Web Conferencing Solutions from WebEx to Drive Global Collaboration
Cisco recently announced that Boeing Co. has renewed its agreement for the use of their WebEx suite of online meetings solutions. Boeing Co. is known as the world’s largest aerospace company and the largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft. The company is the largest user of WebEx web conferencing solutions other than Cisco itself.
Brad Wright, a Director of Information Technology with Boeing, says they use Cisco’s WebEx meeting to effectively communicate across a vast footprint while supporting their cost targets, daily operations and customer commitments.
Boeing has people and operations that span the globe and they have reconfirmed their intent to utilize Cisco’s collaboration technologies by agreeing to purchase Cisco’s WebEx solutions over the next two years.
Boeing has approximately 680,000 participants taking part in more than 140,000 meetings per month and they are the second largest user of the WebEx meetings after Cisco themselves.
Boeing conducts business both internally and with external partners using Cisco’s WebEx online meetings. The online solution reduces their need for time-consuming and costly business travel.
It is critical for Boeing to have the highest levels of security when sharing information and documents to protect their business and their customers. Cisco meets this demand with their WebEx solution.
Cisco’s collaboration solutions not only increase productivity within Boeing, but also allow them to operate more efficiently and cost effectively. Cisco’s WebEx Collaboration Cloud technology provides them with the ability to share documents and information without distribution to other networks.
Boeing has customers in more than 90 countries and conduct business with more than 159,000 people across the United States.
